Same Kind of Different As Me

This book brought me to tears.

Tears about the beautiful story of three people and the impact that they had on a city because they allowed God to work in their life. Tears about what it took to get to that point and the journey that they had to take.

Tears about my journey and the areas that I allow God to work in my life and the areas I am still in the process of giving to Him.

We all have a journey.

We all have experiences, good and bad, and we all have people come into our lives, good and bad, and we all have a choice of how we are going to use these experiences and these people.

The choice is basically are we going to listen to God and allow Him to dictate our every move and thought and not be surprised when He does great things or are we going to try and do this life on our own, hoping everything will work out right and being confused and angry when it does not go "our way".

This book is a true story.

A story about Ron Hall, Debbie Hall and Denver Moore. Ron an upper class art dealer who is used to the finer things in life. Debbie, his wife with a passion for the homeless that could not be stopped and Denver a black man raised on cotton fields, poorer than poor and eventually winding up a homeless man and the amazing way that God brings them together.

This is a story about hope.

A story about faith.

And a story about trust.

This is a story about no matter what your circumstances are in life, God has not forgotten about you and that He is always working things together for the good of those who love Him. It may not look like what we think it should, but that is how God gets the glory.

This book, if you allow God to let you, will make you look at people and life differently, because we all are the same kind of different.

I highly recommend that you read this book.

I recommend that you read it before March 5th, because Ron Hall and Denver Moore will be here in town!!

Our Little Secret

Ok, so we are driving home tonight and out of nowhere Alex says "this car sure is smart".

I pause for a minute, wondering where in the world this is gonna go. Then I ask him why he said that.

Alex said that the car knows where we are going before we even get there.

Huh? what are you talking about Alex?

I've been watching he said...see up there...every time before we turn and he points to the dashboard.

Michael and I just looked at each other and grinned...ssshhh...our little secret.
